"The Pick of destiny"

In our world, there have been many famous people who've lived and died and left a mark on this earth, with their "pick of destiny", strumming the most amazing tunes on their guitars. Well this post is a little different from the rest, i've decided to talk about 2 of my fav guitarist, though i like many more...but these are the ones tat hit my soul and put it on fire :) Some guitar solo's and tunes, just put life back into your soul and make you wanna move your body and get into a trance of no return. If you're a rocker or not, i think most of you will know what i mean...its lyk the feeling of vertigo, like being high on drugs or alcohol. That is the power of music, ist above all these, its simply immortal.

1. Carlos Santana





he is as you all know a famous Mexican-American singer and musician. He is considered one of the best guitarist in the world. He not only sings english songs but also spanish songs, and both are equally popular and loved by many. His songs are a mix of rock, jazz, salsa and blues. Its like a fruit cocktail appeals to many. He has sold upto 80 million copies up til noe. He first rose to fame with his band the Santana Blues band. His songs were smashing hits during the era of 1970's and 1980' but unfortunately, in the 1990's his fame fell to the ground. It was so bad, that he was without a contract. But then again, talent never dies, and when once a person has left his or her mark...he or she will be remembered. So he then released Supernatural in 1999 which was a great success and again he had gotten his fame and has still kept it until today. Supernatural is said to be one of his best albums. His songs that i like include maria maria, smooth ft rob thomas, into the night, just feel better, bella, jingo,soul sacrifice,put your lights on,moonflower and many more :)



2. Slash (saul hudson)




He is a british-american musician and was the lead guitarist of the hard rock band Guns N'Roses, with whom he performed and recorded between 1985 and 1996. He was also the co-founder of velvet revolver, which included is former band mates duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. He is known to be one of the best guitarist alive. Slash was inspired by his school music teacher, this is a quote by him

'Tangerine' from Led Zeppelin III was the very first song I mastered. I had a teacher at school who had a Les Paul and he was always playing Cream and Zeppelin licks and whatever. And when I heard him do that I said "That's what I want to do".
SLASH's early musical influences were Led Zep, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith,Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Neil Young. He credits the Aerosmith album ROCKS with changing his life.
He has Dual UK and US Citizenship and his father is a White English Jew and his Mother is African.
Although he now currently plays authentic Les Paul Gibson guitars, the Les Paul guitar that Slash played on Guns N' Roses debut album "Appetite For Destruction" is actually a Max Webster copy of a 1959 Les Paul flametop.He is also the Youngest Member of Guns N'Roses and is a keen collector of vintage Les Paul guitars.
At the moment he jsut released his solo album called Slash and has some amazing tunes that i really like, songs such as by the sword, promise, crucify the dead, beautiful dangerous. He has colaborated with many well known stars and made an amazing album with the diveristy of the people who he collaborated with.
It was a family friend who nicknamed Saul Hudson "SLASH". He said SLASH was always in a hurry, zipping around from one thing to another. He named SLASH well!
